Introducing Construction Semantics (CxS): a frame-semantic extension of Construction Grammar and constructicography

Abstract Construction Semantics (CxS) uses FrameNet frames to capture the semantic properties of grammatical constructions. It closes a gap between Frame and usage-based Grammar as well providing uniform format implement into constructicographic work. This article provides an overview three core features CxS. Starting point is (i) modeling associated with constructions in terms types frames. makes possible (ii) analysis structural parallels frames, particular motivation elements construct by frame elements. Lastly, (iii) inventory parameters serves toolkit for generalizing over single constructs. A driving force behind CxS concept proximity: network which allows one distinguish lexically evoked that are related or unrelated construction.
